Hi Earl

Yes, I agree with you and the point I was trying to make is more to the
use of the word 'restored'. I have no problems with modified, cloned or
restified cars all I want is a car to drive, as you said it's all good.

Bob,

I guess it would depend on how you were value programmed, and what your
passion is. If you're an ol hot rodder like me, restored means anything
from original to personalized. Most of the time us ol rodder types
prefer the custom paint and suped up motors.

>From watching car prices, the trend in the past 15 years is that hot
rods are bringing
more than restored cars if it is just a normal car, not a hemi cuda or
max wedge car. The bottom is falling out of the older 30's original
stuff, unless it is a special car, because all the guys who grew up with
those cars are dieing off. I guess it will happen to us some day.

I think technically your right, "restored" means an original car, but
that term has been diluted quite a bit in the past few years.

I like cars that show some personality, but I don't like to see rare
cars in the hands of some hillbilly Clampet type. I also think clones
are cool, as long as the guy does not pass it off as an original. You
can sure build a hemi cuda from a 318 car much cheaper than you could
buy an original. It is all good, if it is a car....

Earl

Is it just me or am I missing something, when I see the term "restored"
I expect the car to be as built, isn't there another term for cars that
have been gone through and have had changes made such as paint or
wheels? Does "restified" fit?

Personally I'm driving a restified clone.
