As a retired USAF person, I shipped an everyday commonplace Suzuki 
motorcycle from Guam to Maryland when I returned to the states.  It might 
have been less expensive to dump the bike on Guam and find something when I 
got back.  My reasoning for doing it was (1) it was mine and paid for; (2) I 
knew exactly what the bike was all about and (3) I was able to to the 
shipping expense off my taxes as a moving expense ( as well as shipping both 
dogs back to CA).  That said, IF you do have the time and can afford to tow 
your 64 when you return, it's yours and paid for, you know what the car is 
all about and what it might need and you should be able to moving expense 
it.  Just a thought and my 2c.

PS: Sold the bike 2 years after I returned for a profit.  I was also 
completely paralyzed on my right side due to a disc.  More importantly I 
rediscovered MOPARs in general and haven't looked back.
