RE: ignition switch mystery. Or not.

It is connected to the resistor so it will have the

Ignition coil voltage (after resistor).

When the switch is turned to start full voltage will

be applied to coil.  In other words bypassing the resistor.

Subject: ignition switch mystery. Or not.

OK, I have a good question for the 62-65 electrical wizards.

On our ignition switches we have a heavy brown and blue wire. These have to do with the ballast resistor. The brown wire is for full right key START position and blue wire is for one click right key position, or RUN.

When your key is in RUN position it seems that the blue wire would light up and brown wire would be dead, but as I was messing around with my test light, I found that there is still some juice flowing through the brown wire, just not as bright as the blue wire. Is that right or is my switch bad?
