Re: a100 727 Loadflite questions

Hi Neal! Great you picked up an a100.

As reported b4, I resolved the ratcheting noise &  shift cable issues on my a100 Slant 6 Loadflite tranny during my 6 yr rebuild/restoration project.

Also replace the transmission cooling flex hoses. Napa made them up for me.*
If you need pics of internals above filter and the separate parking dog cable end. Can send you more than I previously posted.

My 65 has the Dash Shifter & two cables. The park cable was defunct and had ratcheting in any Gear. Shop Book showed taking interest tailbcone off to getvto Park dig. But found on my Loadflite, Park dog secured by easy 9/16" special bolt easily seen once cable cover is removed. Found someone had been in there b4 and cable connection ( spiraled onto mechanism was, as the British say,' Buggerred'.

Since rebuilt entire brake system including every E brake cable. Didn't really need Park Dog. So just removed the Slopping 'Dog' & all my tranny noise issues went away.
Adjusted shift cable to align sliding lever in tranny so gears were activated per Dash Plate Positions. Easy to do turning adjusting wheel on tranny face where cable 'Goeszinta' case & small bolt secures thru the holes in the adjusting ring.

Feel free to text or call me 410-302-3930 . I've been adjusting Torqueflites ( bands & cables) since 1962.

Also upgraded the Valve body ( Shift kit) & tranny pan on my 74 Jensen Interceptor (440/727).

* MOST big car Mopar 727 tranny cooling line flex hoses are both males ends. On my a100 the cracked up flex hose was male- female. So my spare 727 flex hoses didn't work.

I assume that means LoadFlite A-100 cable shift trans were only made in 1964 and 1965.
Which contradicts the Fbook  A-100 group's opinion, at least if I understand their opinions as reported by Neal.

Thanks,
Gary H.
