Neal - I bought a 67 300 a few years ago just for the motor. To my surprise, it had the 67 440 gtx heads (915's) on it. I guess they had a few left
over after the GTX run. Pull a valve cover and take a look. Might be another
set out there on a 300. Joe

Joe...did the same thing about 15 years ago.Bought a '67 New Yorker(I think) wagon and low-and-behold it had the HP 440 w/chrome covers and dual snorkel air cleaner. It went into a '67 GTX H/T I had at the time.Motor hadnt run in about 5 years...changed the oil....put some gas down the carb...hooked up a battery...she came to life...lifters clattered for about 5 minutes like it was self-destructing...then smoothed out and ran like gangbusters. Was a very
potent machine!

Hello List..

I read recently that ALL 440s in 67 had 915 heads and something to the effect
that "67 Magnum heads" is a misnomer...as all 440's came with them.

This might have been the mopar muscle article about heads.

To add to some confusion...some 915s had the same small exhaust valves as the 516s

Perhaps the 383s in 67 had 915s with the small valves??
