My idle is about 800RPM the dist has moved very little since the last tune-up, and if it did that would be in the retard direction usually, when I put the timing light on it the mark is way of the scale if I had to guess somewhere between 17 maybe 20 degrees adv. it should be at about 5 or 7. When I try to rotate the breaker plate it only wants to go off sideways up or down
like a wobbling direction but springs back into place can not get the advance arm to move much at all. the reluctor that the rotor attaches to moves forward and springs back ok.


Can I pull the advance arm out and drive it ? maybe I can free up the vacuum with some WD40 ?... maybe I should pull the distributor and see if I can do something like the

I was thinking of sending him my distributor... I was trying to give my car a tune-up and it seems the vacuum adv. is not working...my timing light says I'm way advaced!?
could the vacuum mechanism be stuck? ...the way the breaker plate or pick-up plate can be moved about could the vacuum arm come loose?
Is there a kit to convert the dist. to non-vacuum adv.? anyway, something doesn't seem right with the dist. and thought
I'd run these problems by the group. also, how many are running the Mopar electronic dist. and did you make any mods to it?
