Hi Gary,
Thanks for the info.
...and I trust that fuel consumption for any given bhp would be lower
too?

So, I guess the question is: Who can grind a cam to take advantage of
the semi-hemi?

Regards,
Ken

Ken,
You are correct. The Poly could use a more efficient camshaft to take
advantage of the higher BMEP in the chamber. The Poly BMEP is slightly
less
than the HEMI and far more than the wedge.
The Poly does not need the higher head flow volume as do wedges because
it
need not be "over-engineered" to compensate for the less-efficient wedge

chambers.
Our "Race Poly" will bear some surprising numbers vs. the wedge engines
with
much less camshaft and cubic inches.

I should think that a special grind would be needed to take advantage of
the semi-hemi engine. If a cam is just a cam, why not just use a chevy
grind? I should think the semi-hemi would be less prone to detonation
and could use a cam that built more cylinder pressure? I am no cam
expert, but with the talk about cams designed for fords and chevies, the
Poly head is FAR more exotic than a chevy head.

Schuyler,
My Sig Erson would work well in a built Poly as do all the small block
grinds; however, you cannot use a LA cam in a Poly motor.
