I have over a 100K miles pulling car trailers, most of them with a small  
block 1500 series pick-up, and have never had any problems, the dakota would  
probably be a little lighter than what I would want to use for anything other  
than an occasional local intown tow, but I see them all the time on the  
interstate, and with the laws being what they are with the mandatory trailer  brakes, 
the truck itself does not have to do most of the stopping.    One sure way to 
find out what works, is to take a trip, and watch what passes  you on the
