I'd stay away from the smaller trucks, go with a Ford 250, Chevy, Dodge,  
etc.  I have a '91 Chevy Silverado that I pull my car with and it's  fine.   I'd 
suggest a 3/4 ton vehicle primarily due to the bigger  brake and suspension 
package.  Be sure not to use the ball that attaches to  the bumper, but have a 
good heavy duty hitch installed, if not already from the  factory.  You're next 
dilemma is whether to use electric brakes or not on  your trailer.
