Good tips.....you are correct it's a trunk installation.  In this case, it's 
new and by a shop owner who has built and raced cars for 30 years (I'll be 
checking with him later today).  The cables heavy duty, etc.  I'm now wondering 
if the master disconnect switch has high resistance or something. The starter 
was new & in use on my first build, a mild 9.0:1, resto six-pack cam 440, but I 
only ran that for a few weeks before deciding "I need more power, Scotty!"
