Passon's and Brewer's sell rebuilt units around $750 or so.

I'm having mine rebuilt locally and so far I've spent $200 on parts and expect to spend another $200 before it's done. Plus labor.

You van go to a later model slip joint 4 speed. That's what I use in my '65 Bel 1. Tranny's are more readily available but you'll need a new drvieshaft.

Hello fellow listers! I am always pleased when I put my needs out here and get so many helpful responses. I took my 65 833 4 speed tranny out of my Sport Fury and was told it was in really bad condition. I was quoted a large cost to repair it. I need one of these transmissions (ball & trunion) style for my car ASAP. I hope that you can help me brainstorm this, or if you know of one for sale that is in good (rebuilt) condition, I would appreciate your input. Thanks, in advance, Greg
