Offsetting pins is an old trick. What it does is, make the motor think it 
has a longer rod. If you move the pin to the outside of the motor and 
keep the stock pin height, then the "Top Center Of Pivot" is effectively 
extended toward the top of the motor. The downside is increased 
piston load on one side of the piston. This jumps us back into the old L/R 
ratio discussion.

I have also heard that if you rotate the six pack pistons 180 degrees in
their bores, its worth 25hp with a bit more lower end noise.

This was from a magazine atricle written WAY back in the day.
