Imperial Engines

Hola Dennis

Ever since 1959 the Imperial Division of The Chrysler Corperation has had
only 413's or 440's as an power plant. With this usage they were all only single
4 bbl's.

The 413 was from the 1959 year to the end of 1965. The 440's were used from
the start of the 1966 car year to the last Imperial of 1978.

As a side note, only the entry level Chrysler Windsor/ NewPort and maybe some
plain un-lettered 300's had the 383 cubed engine . The peak hp on this
engine was 335 . The first 413's had an higher hp and then de-tuned to 340 hp.
The first 440's had 350 hp. If they had the HP 440 when they first came out it
was the standard 375 hp rating.
