The moldings on my Coronet were connected with clips. I replaced all the rubber in the windshield and backlite. It is fairly easy and allows you to get everything really cleaned up for the new paint job.

Thanks to all who responded.  Maybe it's because I buried it in the 
wordy post, but what about the winshield and rear window gaskets?  Must 
each be replaced when the glass is removed?  And what about the moldings 
... are they connected with clips?
