I don't know Don I haven't actually done this swap yet on my 63 Fury convert 
or my 64 Belvedere wagon. I've been going by what it says in this article on 
8 3/4 rear ends. Scroll about 2/3 of the way down the page to where it says 
"Thrust Block Variations"

I agree that if the spacer or thrust blocks are the same size that there 
shouldn't be a problem and that if there is a difference that changing the 
thrust block my be easier then shortening the axles. Maybe the article is 
wrong or maybe Mopar changed the thrust block size sometime in '63 and not 
'64.

Speaking of thrust blocks I've now heard that if you're using Green bearings 
that you should remove the thrust block all together. Personally after the 
experience I had with Green bearings I'll never use them again in a street 
car.
