rich, I hope you checked the new distributor also? I don't want to bag on the Mopar electronic distributor to much, but I've heard enough complaints about that vacuum advance plate... that as I mentioned before, I eliminated that part of the distributor altogether and have not missed it one bit! plus I can set the timing as Don D. suggested, at full adv. 3000rpm.
initial advance is no longer necessary.

RPM although Ihave never been there.
A MoparChrome box would be a comparable part should this piece not be
available in your aea. Also recheck you wiring.  power is supplied at
the pointy end. The lower two are pick uo p wires andthe green wire is
no longer used.
If all else fails try reversing the pick up wires.
All the best. This is the hardest work you engine will ever see. NOTHING
is harder on an engine than a Dyno.

I tried to find the box you mentioned but had to settle for a NAPA
Echlin box. It is hooked up right as there are no changes from previous and it was doing OK then. I know my electrical system is pretty frail as
the bulkhead connector fried off for the main power and is band-aid
repaired for the moment. I want to redo the harness asap with the info
regarding the ammeter fix etc..

In my last dist the reluctor did smack the shaft and busted chunks off
it. I have a new Mopar dist now incl a new 35amp alt, new elect volt reg
and new ballast resistor. It runs good at low speed but not at high. I
will lean out my secondary side and try that first.
