Re: Removing leaf springs?

Here's how I did mine.  64 Plymouth Sport Fury.  jack the car up as high as you can and support it with jack stands on the frame rails front & back. Unbolt the bottom of the rear shocks, and remove the mounting plate and u bolts.  Support the rear end ( I used a cradle made for this purpose. )  Unbolt the rear spring shackles, & let the springs rest on garage floor. Remove the front spring mounts and then remove the springs from the mounts.  Reverse the proceedure to install new springs.

One question.   How much are you being charged for the spring re-arch?  ESPO sells new springs for about what most shops charge for re-arching. You can also order the springs in 1 or 2 " over for a little lift in the rear.

Subject: Removing leaf springs?

OK, another question about doing things most of you guys can do in
your sleep.  But I'm always learning and someday I'll be answering
instead of asking ;)

I'm going to have the leaf springs on my 63 Polara 500 re-arched.  Any
advice on the re-arching?  The shop was recommended to me by a guy
from my local Mopar club.

Any advice on removing and/or installing?  I've never done it before,
but I can save some coin doing it myself.  I'll follow the manual, but
you guys always seem to have some undocumented tips.

As always, thanks.

P.S. I'll start hitting the nuts with some P.B. Blaster first thing
tomorrow and every day after.
