RE: Cruise Controls

Kevin,

Gary just posted the a link to the manual that will answer most of your
questions. It will be a few days before I am back to where my car is
then I'll take some pictures and send them to you however here are a
couple of answers for now:

Per the manual the switch that comes with it is small and can be mounted
just about anywhere, I have mine in the flip down ash tray in the dash.
I removed the lighter socket and the switch sits over the hole where the
lighter socket was and the wires run through the socket hole. You could
mount it on a hinged plate under the dash and flip it up under the dash
when you don't want it seen.

No modifications to the car were needed. The carb end of the cable is
connected to the existing throttle cable bracket without any
modifications or drilling, I'll send a picture.

I can send you details of how I wired it next week.

It connects to the existing brake light switch.

It works exactly like OEM units. It has an ON and OFF buttons, RES and
SET buttons. The RES will accelerate and resume, the SET will set the
speed and coast when held. the SET and RES buttons also work by
tapping, each tap with my gearing is about 1/2 MPH up or down.

At one time I think there was a stalk unit as an extra that connected to
the side of the direction signal stalk but not sure if it still exists.

If you give this a try let me know, I can check and give you the dip
switch settings that work with mine. The first time I tried mine I had
one switch set wrong, worked great after I changed the switch setting.

Hope this helps.
Dennis C.
