Re: engine compartment

Seems like Herb is right. I think they sprayed black from underneath to the front of the radiator support and was not concerned with getting it ALL neatly painted. . This is on the cars that were light colored enough to show thru the grill. The darker colors may not have been painted black. And Herb-- we will have to check with D-500 Neil to find where the correct overspray should show!! LOL!!!( inside joke) :-) .......MO

I'm not sure but isn't the core-support sprayed black in the front, so you
see black through the grill and not the color of the car? I seem to
remember reading they had someone in a pit spraying black up from the
underside.

Pretty big question. The body including the engine compartment, doors, hood,
deck lid and fenders but not the under body get painted body color. I
don't think I'm over generalizing when I say nothing else is body color.

The rest is a science. Anybody got a compile list they could pass on to us?

I'm planning to paint my '65 Coronet this winter, and am wondering what
gets
painted the body color besides the sheet metal. Suspension components,
steering, radiator, etc. I want it to look like it did from the factory.
