Roller Cam

A few months ago I posted that I was bending push rods like crazy.
I was told by the previous owner that the cam shaft that I had purchased was a solid roller cam used only for dyno tests.
When I was cold adjusting the lash, the springs were binding and the pushrods were bending before reaching the top of the cam lobe.
Never could get a cam expert to verify what type of cam it was but using old fashioned trial and error I think that what I have is a hydraulic roller cam.
I installed a set of hydraulic roller lifters and now have no spring bind.
Have not started the engine yet and will probably not use this cam and instead will use a "real" solid roller cam.
Just for giggles I checked valve to piston clearance and found that I have .90 on the intake side and .580 on the exhaust side.
Can anyone explain why the giant differences in clearances.?
Thanks
