It may be that the trend is to go to aftermarket heads, but the 452s are still sought after by some.  I would rat hole them also. My brother in law builds engine with all factory blocks and heads and makes the run with the big boys. Usually beating them.

How about the 452 heads that were on the motor? Scrap them? They need to be fully gone through. Isn't the trend nowadays to go to aftermarket aluminum heads?
