Re: 65 cuda found and its got a rower on the floor!

The "5' for the assembly plant is for LosAngeles. The first car off
the line was 100001 and yours, being 166676, is the 66,676th built.
Numbers are inclusive, otherwise the first car off the line would be
100002.

The LosAngeles plant built -
Barracuda - 9,010
Valiant - 18,819
Dart - 29,041
Belvedere - 16,935
Coronet - 19,894
TOTAL - 93,699

1959 was the last year Chrysler Corporation had each series start at
100001 at each assembly plant. In 1960 the first car off the line
was 100001, the second 100002. the third 100003, etc. If the first
car was a Plymouth Valiant V-100, the second a Dodge Coronet Deluxe
and the third a Plymouth Barracuda, the Valiant would be 100001, the
Coronet 100002, and the Barracuda 100003.

For 1965 the last car off the LosAngeles assembly plant was 193699.

On Canadian cars built from 1935 through to 1965 you can tell what nth
your Plymouth was. The first line on the body tag was the Model No.
(AV2-P 29 for a 1965 Valiant Barracuda V8 - Signet V8 was AL2-P 23).
The next line has Body No. Thus if your Valiant Barracuda V8 has
Body No. 273, it is the 273rd 1965 Valiant Barracuda V8 built at
Windsor, Ontario.

A few years back a fellow had a 1964 Valiant Barracuda V8 and stated
he had spoken to Chrysler Canada Historical and was told the first 50
Canadian Barracudas were white with red interior and that # 15 V8 was
destroyed in an accident. Two years later I am at a car show in
Vancouver, and there is a nice dark blue 1964 Valiant Barracuda V8
(VVX2-P 29) with a black interior. Was bust taking pictures of the
engine compartment and was focusing on the body tag, which showed the
car was painted dark blue and did come from the factory with a black
interior.. The Body number? Yup. #15. Unfortunately I misplaced
his email address and I could not find his site on the web. I wanted
to email photos of the 'destroyed' "red with white" #15.

1965 Barracuda production by assembly plant :
Hamtramck - 40,923
LosAngeles - 9,010
St.Louis - 11,588
Total US - 61,521
Windsor - 3,075
Grand Total - 64,596
