Good question! I don't know. If you search on Google for for  Easy Export  you don't find a ton of "these guys are bad news" type postings. FWIW 

 http://www.easyexport.us/copart-locations/auction-in/ca-van-nuys is the yard where the supposedly car is. Worth a call to them to get "real time" feedback. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=cprt gives some info.  http://finance.yahoo.com/q/pr?s=cprt & http://seekingalpha.com/article/274963-copart-turns-car-crashes-into-cash also. 

But $1500 could be like the ebay auctions that explode in price when the 1 second to end deadline hits.
