Re: Welcome new '62-'65 Mopar member - 1964 Dodge Custom 880

yea, that wasnt the actual horn ring itself, the horn ring attaches with 3 screws, you can see where the screws went cause its cracked there. that ring attaches to the black horn contact thing. Ive never welded before id prolly ruin it worse lol. if i put the screws in just right it holds and horn works...im just worried its gonna break off one day and ima be screwed. Im scouraging the internet looking for a junkyard with one so i can go pull it off or something or get it sent to me. everything rusts away down here :( figures the one part i need would be the hardest to find!

Welcome, I have a '62 880, they're fun cars. The picture of the horn
ring didnt work for me, but its most likely pot metal, or white metal.
It has a very low melting temperature so you can't weld it, and I
doubt solder will hold. It will need to be brazed, but you can also
try these specialty rods from a company such as Muggy Weld:

They def work but it takes a bit of practice to get it right. You can
do the repair with a propane torch but MAP gas or acetylene will work
faster/better depending on the metal.
