Another trick that i found years ago for fixing burnt wires after i kept burning them on my "NEW"69 Super Bee 383 mag after installing a set of Heddman 2 piece hedders was a set of the old factory porcelin boots that came on the old HEMI's.This is just another trick that might work depending on your situation.Worked for me and it stopped it from burning and shorting my wires.

The problem of the ignition wires getting burned and nobody selling anything but 90 degree spark plug ends, here is one way to solve it.  But some of the best plug wires in the business, which aren't cheap and will still melt on a header like any other plug wire does.  This company makes custom length wires for any length and car and will install the spark plug cover wire in any angle you want:  45, 70, 90 degrees, and they will also sell you an individual wire for $60 each.  I found the ad and I'm going to give you all a link to these plug wires.  They were $160 a set made up with ignition wire too and a very thick wires with burnproof shilds around them.
 
Before anyone writes "How come if they are so burnproof that you burned them?  All Mopar "B" bodies are tight with 2" headers.  My new Edelbrock heads have angled spark plugs in them.  They want to lay on the header or you have to force the boot on in between the plug and the wire.  If you can bend the wire far enough away you can get a little gap in there.  That's all it takes not to burn a wire in my experience.  Touching will burn except if your use asbestes roll around the header.  Sometimes if you find just the right small spark plug you can cure the problem with that.  But some headers with any head, if it causes a problem with only one cylinder, the engines don't run right.
 
After I got my new heads and hadn't used my wires yet, I sent them back and told them how much to trim off and what kinds of new ends  to put on them and they did.  It wasn't for free but very reasonable.  I also got two spares at $60 each in case I burn the other ones up if one of my tiedown ( a teeny, tiny leetle one) breaks, I've got a burnt wire again.
 
Davis Unified Ignitions (aka D.U.I.) There was the problem with the search.  A few years ago you search on D.U.I. and it was always the first one up.  Now it is down the list so many pages I got a tip when someone in a MOPAR chat room mentioned Davis Unified Ignigtions and then I remembered what to search on to find it.
 
D.U.I.  also makes a very small battery that cranks like a big one and  only weighs about 12 lbs.  It was about $120 and even when it went dead from my can's brakelights sticking and me not noticing it, the little battery which was completely dead, rejuvinated itself.  When I put a commercial battery charger on that battery six months later, it had a perfect charge of electricty in it.  It is sealed and has jell in it instead of water.  My motor is low compression but it takes a lot of weight off the nose, I notice no more difference than in a big, heavy HD battery in performance, and kt rejuvinates itself.  Definately not the thing to put in a MOPAR resto.  The little bat on the battery would get you DQed if nothing did.  But its cheap, works very well, takes weight off the nose and hooks to any type of battery terminal you order for it.  You might have to drill a few holes in your old battery pan and leave it in and make a hold down, but if you ever put the "right" kind of battery back in you won't even see the little holes you have to drill.
 
I'm not pushing anything.  Just telling you what I used and how it worked and what it might do for you or anyone else. 
 
I'll set the link for the page about the wires, then I'll have a link for wires for your car, then batteries for your car, and anyone can navigate to the home page and look and have a see.  Made in America and 100% good on their warranties even if you are a few days over but didn't install it for a few months after you got itl.  Easy to do business with.   They will bend over backwards to please a customer as long as you are polite to them.

Do get some very fine billit plug wire separators.  They come in two, three, and four hole separators.  I like them and consider them the best in the business.  You might find something you might like better for cheaper, but these are so nice they would be a bargain (almost) at twice the price.They are on the first link.

Herr's a third link.  It goes to the dyna-bat batteries.  They stil have them for $119.00.  Mystify your friends!  How can that tiny battery crank so much and hold its power better than most HD batteries?  It works, just let them think you are smart because you know something they don't know.  LOL!
 
Always go clear to the bottom of the page if you take a look at anything.  They sell more things, I just told you about the things I got off of them except for the giant distributor which wouldn't fit under the hood of my '62 Dodge and they took it back when they didn't have to as it was still brand-new.  Got a Mallory Billit Distributor instead but kept the wires.  You can see the wires in some of the pics I have sent about my engine in previous emails.

He has, in PDF form, 1955-1965 Part Manuals and 1964 Chrysler Service Manual.  There is almost no difference in the 1964 Dodge 880 and the 1962 Chrysler Newport/300. The body panels are different on your car vers the Chrysler, but the drive train is the same, so the 1964 Service Manual will be of great help to you.  I'm pretty good with the 1962 Chrysler, so I'll try to help out as best I can.  He also has in PDF a 1950-1965 Interchange Manual, very helpful thing to have, it will help you find that odd bit of whatever that you just can't find.     Enjoy
