Re: "Golden Anniversary" [ was Re: Welcome New Member - 1964 Dodge 440]

Thanks Ray. It sounds like a matter of definition. He is apparently saying his 1964 wagon is one of around 500 that were made with a special dress-up trim package and painted the color called "anniversary gold" in 1964. I suspect whatever that special dress-up trim package was it was available as an option on any Dodge wagon, maybe other styles of Dodges in 1964 too, irregardless of the color of the vehicle. Maybe Bill Watson will read this thread and fill in what " dress-up package" meant in 1964. Or someone else with a 1964 salesman's booklet that listed options.

For now, I still have not found an option in 1964 Dodge literature that was a "Golden Anniversary Edition" that you could check off order and get a unique vehicle. In other words, you could check off "Polara 500" and get a unique set of options, but there was no "Golden Anniversary Edition" box to check off on the order form.

As for "Mopar of the Month" I pick from what I have on hand, based on what people send me. There are 3 mail list members who are apparently now in the process of getting stuff ready to send me. Ron Martin is welcome to do so. Sounds like he has a nice survivor that, now that dodgepolara.com is gone, is not pictured on the Web.

Thanks,
Gary H.
