Re: Problem solved!! maybe

An update on my valvetrain problems. First off I want to thank
everyone who gave me much valued advice. I tryed for quite some time
to get the lifters out with the retractabnle magnet. I have low
vision , especially where there isn't much light. My second mechanic
( wifey) found that the opening in the head was to small to get the
lifter through it. She simply moved it over to the lifter beside it
and it came right out. then got the second one out . But then could
not get them rxactly in position to go back into the bores. So I
finally found my 4 finger retrievel tool, modified it a little , and
then she got the lifters back in.

I then made a oil pump primeing shaft and WHOO-HAAA- I have oil
pressure . I was worried cause there was pressure to only one side
of the valvetrain.. More advice confirmed that I needed to rotate
the canshaft a little to feed oil to the other side. I had another
problem that I will give a tip on in another topic. Late this
afternoon I got the engine started, but there is an upper loud pecking
noise that I think is a collapsed lifter.. I will give the old Rislone
treatment and see what happebs.. Thanks again
all...................MO

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. That is, send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
