Re: Steering Wheel Puller(Now the rest of the Story)

Mopar Fans:

Thanks for all the help you gave me on the steering wheel dilemma. I got some 1/2 inch 20 Th. nylon lock nut but they seamed a little high so I chased down a place for the castle nut but they only came in mm. Then the guy said try a Jam Nut ,1/2-20Z NTE. I set it side by side with the castle nut and the height  was dead on. However I noticed the castle nut had a slight circular machined space on the bottom. Anyway I was able to get the Jam Nut, I had to buy a whole bag as they do not sell single nuts and bolts ( about $6), started on the column end. I than backed it off and was able to get the Castle Nut to work on the column.

I got them from the Fasten-al Distributor who is a mile from my house. The part number for them is 1137132. Very helpful people. I still have a lot left over.

Once this was resolved it was time for a road trip to Branson, MO from SC. Nothing like a week in the Show Me State to take the edge off!!!!!!

Again, thanks for everything.

Now back to the Project.

I pretty much stay on eBay at work, I think if I'm not mistaken, I saw
a couple of auctions with the washer and nuts for the steeringwheels.
I always look up 63 and 64 dodge I don't remember which it was under.
I'll do a search and see if I can find something. If not ima take a
look in my shop, I know I have a few from Chevys and a newer dodge,
I'll have to compare to what I have on mine. I dont know what car you
have if that matters.
