Re: '64 Dodge C body Fuel Sending Unit

As far as I know all the 62-64 800's and the 61-62 Newports, NYer's, 300's, and Desotos use the same sending unint.  All the aftermarket ones I've seen don't fit without some modifcation to the fuel pick up tube, bending it or lengthing it.  NOS or a rebuild is the best choice.  I rebuilt my own.  I got a new brass float and fuel sock from a Ford.

I had to clean out my pick up tube, it was clogged with 15 year of sludge and rust.  I took apart the gauge electronics, cleaned the silver contacs, readjusted it, put it back together, installed the new brass float and fuel sock, new gasket and put it back in the tank.  It works just like new.

Or you can save yourself a 2 days worth of tinkering and just buy one.  Your time is worth something....if I had other things to do I would have bought one, but I didn't, it was sumer and why not.
