In the era our cars were designed Chrysler used ported vacuum to advance the timing to improve combustion and fuel milage. Therefore you should not find vacuum at the distributor at idle speeds. Just be sure to check for correct operation while timing.
I see, thanks. Ima look at it tomm, put a light on it, just to let yall know what it is on the number. I'm guessing counter clockwise is backing off correct? And do it without advance attached?

timing marks on an engine are only the starting point of setting the timing, after an engine has 20,000 miles or more on it there is no way to compensate for the wear in the components with a light
At idle, where should the timing mark be on the timing tab?
