RE: Imitation chrome update

Are you serious?  $500 to basically spray paint some window trim?  I've seen the videos and it does look cool.  But for that price I'd sooner spend the money on real chrome.  I could have sworn that I saw a video saying it was "a fraction" of actual re-chroming.

Subject: Imitation chrome update

Hi fellas and gals,
Today I went to a franchised Cosmichrome dealer. I took all the interior window trim for my 1965 Belvedere II after blasting and urethane priming and sanding with 1000 grit. I asked for a ballpark estimate and was told 450 to 500 dollars and he wasn't sure of the outcome on the long side pieces because of the gap between the spotwelded joint. I thanked him and resigned myself to a paint finish. The cost was almost the same as the chrome plater had quoted me earlier last year. The dealer told me he charges 400 to 500 for a motorcycle helmet-too rich for my blood! FYI.
