Re: Poly Block Update-Not So Great

Too bad this didn't happen over the summer. I scrapped a 66 Fury with the poly in it. Last year I gave a running one away.
A buddy of mine is going to buy a 64 Dodge parts car with a complete motor in it soon(soon being by spring). I know he won't need the engine. He'd probably let it go for $50-100 bucks. Located in southern NJ.

The actual #3 "bearing surface" of the block and cap are much worse
than the thrust surface IMHO. #2 & #4 have some issues too. Not sure
that they are THAT common, but I'm going to see if you can find
another one. It looks like it's going to need enough align-boring that
I'm afraid I'll have to source one of those short (read $$$) timing
chains. Since the engine was free, maybe I can make some $ back at the
scrapyard!! And the machine shop shop felt sorry for me when they sae
the damage so they didn't charge me for the hot-tank. Right now I'm
only out some time.
