RE: Exhaust note

I gotta agree with Dodger.  Talk to the exhaust shop.   I too was confused as to the sound I wanted.  He suggested flowmasters on my mildly built 440.  I told him I didn't really care for that sound.  I told him I wanted something that rumbled but not too loud.  When I heard my car fire up and they backed it out of the shop, I nearly s**t myself.  It was exactly what I had in my head.  And to all of you who read this, yes, I dislike the sound of flowmaster's.   Sue me!!

Sound is definitely a personal judgement call,,,,I personally would want the pipes to be a very minimum of 2 1/2 inch, seems like the smaller pipes give a cackling sound versus a rumble, as far as mufflers go I would talk to the exhaust shop that is going to be doing the work and find out what they like to work with and what their recommendations are for your application
