Well not so true, the larger the rotor the better the heat dissipation, less heat the more effective the braking.  That said under normal driving conditions I doubt you will have any braking problems with your setup.  Also some 14 inch rims will fit using the larger rotor and gm caliper.

I didn't go with the 15" as I've still got my 14" rims and hub caps.  They didn't make a Newport with 15" unless it was specical ordered with the 300H motor.  Besides, the kit Eric R and I used used the same caliper and pad for either rotor, so it won't give more stopping power either way.  Besides.  It's got a lot more stopping power now and never have to be adjusted.  That makes it worth it to me.
