Re: radiator

I am presently detailing my engine bay and redoing all parts. I saw that my factory brass radiator had lots of rust on the side braces, especially the sides of braces which go against the sides of the core, which aren't accessible. I went to my local radiator shop and had them remove the braces so I could clean, derust and paint them and they re-soldered them back on for me. The radiator guy told me that he's seen many a rusted brace due to not being able to get to the underside and over time they fail. For a $20 dollar bill or less it seemed a reasonable maintenance thing to do to protect and extend it's life. Ruth

Sorry to hear that! Man, that seems like a freak accident. Or is it?

Thanks,
