Yes, the 1956 (277, 303 Poly) to 1961 Poly 318 (+301,313,326 Poly engines) have a different bellhousing bolt pattern/oil pump/deeper oil pan/slightly different timing case cover/extra water jackets in the head & block/different starter & starter location...

Thank you for your reply but only the 1957-61 blocks will work for this project as they have a different bellhousing pattern than the 1962-66 Poly 318 engines.
