Re: Proper technique to "refresh" a "refreshed" block

wd40 wont last long for storage,I found that the spray white litheum grease or a coating of vasoline works well

Hopefully I haven't wasted the $$ I paid Muscle Motors to do their "race prep" machine work on my 413 block back in 2008 ... but I'm just now getting around to getting ready to actually proceed with the build over the winter months.  They bored the block .030, line honed the mains, installed the cam bearings, and am pretty sure they milled the head surfaces.

I sprayed WD-40 all over the thing and kept it in a black plastic bag, but somehow some moisture must have gotten in there as there is what looks like discoloration on the cylinder walls and head surface areas.

I have one of those cylinder hone gizmos ( the one with all the little grinder balls on it ) that I used when I did my Poly rebuild - would it be okay if I used it to clean up the cylinder walls?  Or is there a better way?  Or am I completely hosed here?

Thanks in advance,
