RE: Big Block 318?? What?

This resulted in some confusion recently when I purchased a new intake gasket/valley cover for the 383 B engine in my '64 wagon. The young fellows at the local auto parts store sold me the wrong RB part because they were confused by the 383 listed as one the engines the part was used on. I did not notice until I drove all of the way home that 413/426/440 was also listed on the box. At least I did not try to install it. The kids at the auto counter had some difficulty understanding my explanation that there were two types of 383's (when was the last time anyone saw a 383 RB engine anyway) but I did finally get them to find the correct part I was looking for.

And what about the 350b & 383rb is what I should have written.  350b is what I was thinking but I guess I did not convey it that way, Sorry!  Correct 383 was the smallest rb.  Side note the 383 is most commonly known as a b block but in 59 & 60 their was also an rb version available in the Chrysler line.  And the 350 was a 58 only engine.

did not know that the 350 came in an RB, thought the smallest  RB was the 383
