Interesting ,,,,, I have a 65 coronet 500 body out back, all the drivetrain , front spindles and front clip are gone,,,, , it does have a V8 k-member in it,,,,, what engine did it come with,,,, 273, 361, 383, or 426,,,,,, no clutch pedal so know it was an auto,,,,

I believe you to be correct.  In my opinion you can look at a body for a few key items and tell what engine trans came in a car without any tags or paperwork to tell you. The body itself will have all the clues you need.
