Good info.  I'll hafta work up some courage and remove the chrome trim and see what I've got.  Been about 36 years since that's been off.  Little afraid of what I'll find LOL.  Still, the window needs to be replaced.

If you remove the chrome trim with the snaps, you will expose a pressed steel strip which holds the rear window to the body.  They are completely separate, allowing you to remove the trim and paint the car while leaving the rear window in place.  I have a 65 B body and I assume that they are the same for other B’s.  As I said in an earlier post, be very careful to protect the paint when removing either the trim or the pressed steel strip.

Here's another question...do I understand it correctly that the "snap strip" where the boot snaps on, does NOT hold the rear of the top to the body? I'm looking at paint soon and want to remove the snap strip if possible.
