Solved: Points/Ballast Resistor Gurus Needed!

My problem turned out to be corrosion at the bulkhead connectors.

After trying a number of things, I was successful when I pulled off the two connectors on the engine side of the firewall and sprayed the ends with battery cable cleaner.  Let is set for 4 or 5 minutes, rinsed it off with water from a spray bottle then blew it dry with air. Starts now.

Lost a lot of time getting this resolve but still pushing to get it to Carlisle this year for the first time.

Up until a few minutes ago, the engine would not when the key was on START.  It
would ocassionally catch as the key was released - gonna guess the motor was
rotating and was ready to fire when the key hit the RUN position. I check the
circuit from IGN2 on the switch to the ballast resistor and everything has
continuity. So now all of a sudden it starts on START. Maybe the electrical
contact cleaner did it's job along with the sliding contacts against each other
as I disconnect and reconnect the wiring.

But, now I have another problem - it starts on START but won't run when the key
is released.  Typically this is the ballast resistor but I've checked and it
still has continuity.

What happened??? What do I check now?
