What thaty means is both lobes are on the heel, 6 is firing, 1 is on the overlap, exh. just closed int. is opening Number 6 pushrods should be loose also. Cranks rotates twice per every cam rotation. it will line up on zero every 6th and 1st hit.

 OK, I have heard this about #6 before, if this is true then why when both dots are at 12 o'clock, and I stick the timing case back on and slide on the damper the groove in damper is perfectly on the zero mark. And the number 1 cylinder pushrods are loose ( which I have always thought you could trust to mean that  that cylinder is on compression stroke) .

 ok, SO WHY is there a circular groove ground on the inside of my timing case in my 360?? Seems if it was the eccentric grinding on the case interior ( which I know it shouldn't) it would wipe more than an 1/8 inch wide groove, because of  the eccentric motion.appears to be exact diameter of the eccentric.
  Could this be a timing case from a 360 magnum? Maybe they were shallower.
