64 barracuda trans tunnel fit question

Hi FFolkes. Got a couple questions for early a-body experts.
#1) Is it true that only the 904 will fit into the tunnel of a 64 barracuda. Seems like I heard somewhere a 727 will not fit without butchering up the tunnel.

#2) So if I instead installed my A-body fourspeed ( from a 1966 Dart) what bellhousing can be used? I know those early 273 cars had a weird small flywheel and bellhousing. Is that my only choice?? I have a bellhousing that came from a later (67-69 dart), but I bet that's too big for the tunnel.
