I have heard that train of thought regarding the GTO but in my view it quickly unravels when you consider the same body was also available as a Lemans and Tempest, and an engine line-up starting with a 250 I6 as well as a 326 v8. I equate this to the Savoy / Belvedere / Fury / Sport Fury with line-ups from the Slant 6 on up.

And P.S. Yeah baby you got yourself a muscle car !
