I have seen welders do amazing work.  Does anyone know if this can be welded or is there too much stress in the area to make it worth trying.

It appears from following this discussion I should pull my transmission out of my 64 Belvedere, I have a leak it about the same location that I have not been able to identify with the transmission in the car.
