Maybe this thing is stuck closed.  I found this video on how to rebuild it.

I am battling with the darn 2bbl carb and trying to get it working decent.  I did have it running pretty good and then suddenly it took a dump.  Running too lean, surging and popping.

Just out of a whim I used my infra-red heat gun and I found the pass side exhaust is running about 120deg hotter than the driverside.  At the tailpipe the difference is about 30deg but there is an H-pipe so they mix.

I'm thinking one side of the 2bbl is screwed up. Perhaps the metering rod popped out of the jet?  I'll check it out asap and give an update.  If you have any ideas feel free to respond.
