Are you going to race? On stock applications you probably don't need the windage tray. 

If you have used  "The Right Stuff" in the past and are happy with it, try that with a slim coat of The Right Stuff on both sides the gasket.  Make sure there is no oil on the engine or pan before you start. (Clean with brake cleaner) 
I agree The Right Stuff is a pain IF you have to remove the pan in the future. But I assume if you get the leak fixed you are not planning to remove the pan anytime soon anyway.

Just carefully tighten the bolts in back-side-side back style sequence like you would an intake manifold and not over-tighten.
