No exact production figures I've seen.

Yes a dealer-optioned car is a possibility. Years ago (late 1990s I think) there was much chatter on Mopar mail lists about a 1964 Plymouth wagon what was a ex-Air Force vehicle that had a factory installed 4 speed. It was a big block car though, if I recall correctly.
