Re: December 2014 Mopar of the Month

Gary,

Thanks for the "Goldfish" Mopar of the Month writeup and links to earlier articles. I've gotta confess that I was much more a fan of the early Darts than of the barracudas (still am, for that matter). But the historical aspect of this Mopar of the Month is much appreciated. I would still like to know more about this particular car in its original build and race history. Were there any magazine articles at the time with details of the project, and are there any links to such. Maybe the book you linked to has all the info there is, but ya know...Inquiring minds want to know.

Hi all,

A 1965 Plymouth Barracuda "Goldfish" is December 2014’s Mopar of the Month. It's a good story of an average Mopar fan coming upon a mothballed Barracuda basically sitting on it's frame on the ground at a friend's property. He rescued the Barracuda in 1999 and scraped together the resources over the years to restore the car to what it was in 1965: A Golden Commandos race car. He was even voted in by the remaining members of the Golden Commandos to become an official member of the Golden Commandos team! The December web page describes his 2014 activities with the Plymouth. The December page also has a link to a July 2007 Mopar of the Month feature about the Barracuda.
