Re: Water neck clearance - Poly 4bbl

I just ordered a 90deg "stock" unit from Summit for $18.92 incl shipping/handling.It's a Four Seasons 84837 ($13.97)
The Summit part number is FSS-84837

If it doesn't work I'm not out much,  The $90 CVR billet one looks cool but that's a lot of coins to shell out for a T-stat housing. The one I ordered is not adjustable and might actually point a bit towards the firewall if installed with the hose coming from the passenger side. My aluminum radiator has the upper hose on the far pass side.

I'll let you know what I think about it when it arrives.

Sick looking manifold for sure - my first ever “air-gap”.  ; )

Here’s another brand swivel water neck, the manufacturer says it should also fit the Poly.  In the 360 degree view you can see it is a little less than 90 degrees.  With the curve of the OEM hose and the height - might be the way to go to be able to use a straighter hose - would look a little cleaner.

Well I am one step closer to doing the bottom end - Picked up a Torin “Big Red” 2 ton cherry picker, load leveler & engine stand last night.  Bought the Torin “Big Red” 12T double-locking jack stands last year and really like them, a little better quality than Harbor Freight.  Jumped on yesterday’s “Cyber Monday” 30% off at Pep Boys.  Got all 3 items for less that just the HF 2T cherry picker.

A big thanks Ricky!!!  Gary P worked very diligently to keep Javier’s desire for an even taller manifold under control…lol… We’re seeing the fruits of our efforts finally bringing joy eh?  More manifolds on the way sometime around New Years… Thanks to all for your patience and encouragement!

Popped the thermostat housing and upper hose off the Dart to check clearance over the holiday.  While a straight up water neck wasn’t going to fit, the OEM has enough angle to work just fine.  With the added height, might need an upper hose with a tighter bend.

Hood clearance is very close to the same as stock 2bbl from what I measure with this combo.  (Edelbrock 1406 with electric choke - and  Mr Gasket 4339 low profile air cleaner assembly).

Plan to do the bottom end this winter, so as I am taking it apart will set this on and confirm hood clearance with some clay.  Much easier to get a lower profile air cleaner assembly, when you do not have an electric choke.  So a bit of a challenge, but I think this is the combo that will work for me.

If there is room - have my eye on a slightly taller air filter element 2 1/4” vs 2”:

For those who need 90 degree water neck, CVR products says theirs will fit:
